Athlete Quotes |
The National Training Center in Clermont, Florida is the only place that I have seen which offers a comprehensive approach to injury management and performance enhancement. The team of physical therapists works closely with the physiologist at the human performance lab to treat an injury and analyze the biomechanics that caused the injury, so not only am I able to train without interruption, but also I found my efficiency has improved dramatically. Sheila Taormina 1996, 2000, and 2004 Olympian, 2004 World Triathlon Champion
My 2005 season training began with a trip to the National Training Center in Clermont, FL in December for a re-evaluation of my back and hip. Chuck Wolf oversaw my strength and conditioning and Jack Jackson performed my physical therapy Amie was out on maternity leave). I was given a clean bill of health, some excellent physical therapy on a lingering adductor pull sustained during the Rio World Cup in November, and a new strength program that still makes my quads burn. Despite colder than normal temperatures, I was able to do quite a bit of swimming, biking and running. It is amazing how the Floridians complain when the temperature drops below 40!
